Retina Services

Medical and surgical management of retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and retinal detachment.

Advanced Retinal Care

The retina is the delicate, light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye, essential for clear vision. Our Vitreoretinal Department is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and surgical technology to manage the most complex diseases of the retina and vitreous with unparalleled precision.

Diabetic Retinopathy Management

Diabetes can severely damage the blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision loss. We offer comprehensive screening programs for early detection of diabetic retinopathy. Our advanced imaging capabilities, including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA), allow us to map the disease's progression accurately.

Treatment options include highly targeted retinal laser photocoagulation to seal leaking blood vessels and prevent further damage. For more advanced cases involving macular edema or abnormal vessel growth, we utilize the latest anti-VEGF intravitreal injections to stabilize and often improve vision.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)

AMD affects the central portion of the retina, called the macula, impacting activities like reading and recognizing faces. We provide extensive diagnostic evaluations to differentiate between 'dry' and 'wet' AMD.

While dry AMD is managed with specialized nutritional supplements and careful monitoring, our specialists are highly proficient in administering specialized intravitreal injections, the gold-standard treatment for managing wet AMD and preserving central vision.

Retinal Detachment & Vitreoretinal Surgery

A retinal detachment is a medical emergency that requires prompt surgical intervention to prevent permanent blindness. Our state-of-the-art surgical suites are fully equipped for complex vitreoretinal surgeries.

We perform advanced procedures such as pars plana vitrectomy, scleral buckling, and pneumatic retinopexy. Our experienced surgeons utilize minimally invasive, microsurgical techniques to meticulously repair detached or torn retinas, clearing vitreous hemorrhages, and restoring structural integrity to the eye.

Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) Screening

Premature infants are at risk for ROP, a potentially blinding disorder characterized by abnormal blood vessel growth in the developing retina. Our specialized pediatric retina team provides critical, timely ROP screenings in neonatal intensive care units to ensure early detection.

If intervention is necessary, our experts are highly trained in performing delicate laser therapies or surgical procedures on fragile premature eyes, striving to prevent vision loss and promote healthy visual development.
